Bookkeeping

Assists LTP in keeping accurate financial records. A bookkeeper will assist the organization in taking care of all our day to day financial tasks.

Goals: 

  • Logs income and expenses made by LTP

  • Manages both the LTP charitable account and the social enterprise account

  • Collects online information of income and expenses through LTP’s website and accounts with Give Lively, Stripe, and Wave - online bookkeeping platform. 

  • Copies, files, uploads receipts 

  • Runs errands to the bank, making deposits and withdrawals

  • Collaborates closely with the head of the organization along with the CPA

  • Monitor financial transactions and reports.

  • Process accounts receivable and payable.

  • Process checks.

  • Understand ledgers.

  • Work with an accountant/CPA when necessary.

  • Handle monthly payroll using accounting software.

Learning Objectives:

  • Associate's degree in accounting or business administration.

  • Excellent knowledge of general accounting principles.

  • Knowledge of bookkeeping software.

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Attention to detail and accuracy of work.

  • Experience with accounting software such as Wave and spreadsheets.

  • Able to prepare, review and understand a financial statement.

CPA

 A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) assists the organization with tax and financial statement planning. Tasks performed by CPAs include studying financial records, preparing tax forms, and overseeing audits. CPAs must have an accounting degree and a CPA certification. Over-sees both The Residential Program and Justice Enterprises.
