Security Team Volunteer
A volunteer of LTP’s security team helps to create and preserve an environment where staff, volunteers, participants, visitors and property are safe and well-protected as we get survivors to safety.

Goals:
Collaborate with LTP’s Residential Support Manager
Liaison and support to finding safe housing for the survivors coming straight off the streets
Provides safe and secure transport
Make initial assessments for survivors met in their moment of crisis who are interested in coming into the program.
Uses skills and connections as a retired, active, or off duty police officer, security officer, attorney, or relevant field of occupation
Patrols LTP shelter property
Monitors security systems
Inspects buildings, equipment, and access points
Restraining trespassers, traffickers, abusers, violent instigators
Learning Objectives:
Experience in law enforcement, the legal system, self-defense, or social services (or willing to be trained)
Retired, off-duty, or active: police officers, counselors, social workers, constables, attorneys, etc.
Demonstrates excellent surveillance and emergency response skills
Strong commitment to security rules and knowledge of all hazards and threats to safety
Proven experience as Police Officer or similar position
Experience in reporting and emergency response planning
Excellent knowledge of security protocols and procedures
Solid understanding of budgeting and statistical data analysis
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Outstanding organizational and leadership skills
Committed and reliable

Security Team Coordinator:
Assists in the management of LTP’s security team. The Security Team Coordinator will develop and implement policies and procedures to maintain security standards.

Goals:
Provides and uses network to offer pro bono security services (law enforcement, security, legal, etc)
Recruiting, training and supervising volunteers on security team
Conducts first level interviews/screenings/intake of victim-survivors
Connects screened survivors with services/case manager
Assesses and assigns secure meeting places
Asses and assigns secure immediate safe housing
Provide ways to get background checks
Assists in navigating the court system
Provides security escort
Provides resources to education/training and/or conducts the trainings
Self-defense classes (how many levels, how should we coordinate, what kind of people, what kind of condition?)
Assists in ensuring proper documentation is being implemented
Patrols LTP shelter property
Monitors security systems

Developing and implementing security policies, protocols and procedures.
Controlling budgets for security operations and monitoring expenses.
